After nearly three weeks of coughing and a runny nose, we found ourselves back at the pediatrician today. Darcy was diagnosed with a sinus infection and an ear infection in her left ear. Sigh. I really had hoped her surgery a few weeks ago would prevent every cold from turning into a huge ordeal (for her and for us). She is on both otic and oral antibiotics to help clear this latest bout up, but if she ends up with another round anytime soon, I think we'll be back at the ENT specialist. We shall see ...
This is the girls' last week at their current day care, and this morning Darcy's favorite teacher, Ms. Gail, gave her a little goodbye present. We are going to miss Ms. Gail!
I've been trying to eat vegetarian as much as I can lately for a variety of reasons. Here are two of my new favorite recipes: oatmeal made with half water, half milk and topped with honey, chopped figs and ground flax seeds (This is really yummy and surprisingly filling); and whole grain pita pockets stuffed with halved grape tomatoes, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, pine nuts and Italian dressing (lt's like a caprese salad in a pita. Delish.).
