Pitiful Little Girls

Evie started running a fever today so now both girls are sick. They are just pitiful and I am doing everything I can think of to make them feel better. These are my charts of their symptoms and what medications I've given them and when (otherwise I would totally forget). Praying that they feel better soon ... and that I don't get sick as well!

Spices

Um, how adorable is the packaging for Archer Farms spices (at Target)?! Ready to throw out all the spices in my pantry so I can fill it with these.

This One

I have been home with this one for the past two and a half days as she has some sort of virus causing a horrible cough, runny nose, diarrhea and a fever (101.5 at last check). The pediatrician has her on nebulizer treatments for the cough and I am rotating Tylenol and Motrin for the fever. I always wish I could be sick instead as I hate to see my babies suffer.

Three Things ...

Three things about Calvin that I'm not a huge fan of:

1. The begging. I could be eating salad and he would beg for some!

2. The "presents" he likes to leave me in the bathtub. Sigh.

3. The fur everywhere.

Three things about Calvin I love (that make the things I don't like bearable):

1. He is a champion snuggler.

2. His pretty blue eyes (not pictured here) that can get him out trouble any time.

3. He's a good sport with my kids, letting them hug/pet/pull on him to their heart's content.

New Toy

Finally put this toy (one of Darcy's birthday presents) together today and it was a hit with both the girls.

Evie the Artist

One of my favorite parts of the week is seeing what art Evie has made at day care.

Labrynth

One of the perks of working at UT is access to amazing facilities like this labrynth walk in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. Great place to sort your thoughts and emotions.

(No, they did not pay me to say this.)

Treat

At the end of a long day, there's nothing like a bowl (or mug in this case) of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream!

Weekend Project Progress

So it's it not perfect, but at least everything is in organized manageable piles.

I also unboxed and put away all our DVDs and worked some more on our closets. All in all a very productive weekend!

Evie the Leprechaun

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

I'm celebrating St. Patrick's Day by sipping my coffee from the Herself mug I picked up in Dublin (Blake has a matching Himself mug). Don't forget to wear green!

(And for anyone wondering, St. Paddy is the proper abbreviation as the actual name of the holiday is with the Irish spelling of Patrick - Padric. That concludes the spelling lesson for today.)

"Life Jacket"

This evening Evie put the Baby Bjorn on (backwards), tucked Kitty in and told me it was her life jacket to go on the rocket ship.

(Visions of my daredevil telling me she was going sky diving flashed before my eyes.)

Life with my Evester is never dull!

Strawberry Thief

Evie decided to help herself to a snack while I was putting Darcy to bed. She would have gotten away with it if she'd thrown away the stems!

Color Code?

Evie LOVES playing with these blocks, dumping them out and putting them back in the cart. She likes to do either all green and blue or all red and yellow. I like to interpret the red and yellow as a clue that she has a preference for garnet and gold. She is the product of two 'Noles after all!

Flea Market Finds

There is a flea market on campus this weekend to raise money for restorations to Plant Hall (I work at The University of Tampa, for those who don't know). University employees got first dibs today for one hour, the only catch being we had to pay twice the price. Here's what I found ...

These trays were $2.50. They need a little sprucing up, but have potential.

This is a COACH satchel briefcase from the 1970s that I snagged for $6.00. Totally made my day.

And of course, something for my babies. Blue's Clues dish set for $2.00.

Grand total: $11.00

This Face

This face (and the accompanying noise) is the reason I've been putting Darcy to bed at 7 p.m. Ever since we put her in day care, she is wiped out by the end of the day. There are definitely nights I wish I could join her!

Me and the Evester

My snuggle time with Evie is probably my favorite time of the day (though equally shared with my snuggle time with Darcy). I snapped this right before we read our books for the night (which Evie always picks out). Tonight's selections were Corduroy Lost and Found and A Duck in New York City.

One Already?

Darcy turned one year old today. Hard to believe it's been a year already. We celebrated with both her Mallard and Kornegay grandparents, opening presents and eating cupcakes. Happy birthday to my little sweet pie!
