I was bribing this one with Skittles tonight to get her to focus on her math homework. It was actually quite effective and Evie's math abilities are quite impressive when she focuses.

Calvin has made himself useful these past few cold nights as a foot warmer. He's gotta earn his keep somehow!

This One, That One

This one appears to be feeling much better today. No fever and her usual playful self this evening ...

That one decided to pull the fire alarm at school today "to see what would happen." Sigh. One, uneventful week is all I'm asking for!

Perking Up

After a day resting up with Grammy, Darcy was much perkier this evening. Her fever seems to have finally broken (I hope) so that is a good sign that she is getting better. Thank God for modern medicine ... and for Grammy!

The Flu

Poor Darcy was diagnosed with Influenza A today. Pitiful thing has just wanted to be held all afternoon and evening. Here's to hoping the antiviral drugs the pediatrician gave her start working quickly. I hate to see my baby suffering.

Evie's homework tonight was reading a poem about how cool libraries are (I'd have to agree). She drew this picture of her school and it's library and was sure to put a sun up in the corner (we do live in the Sunshine State after all).

Stickers

After bath, the girls asked if they could play boingy boingy (bounce on my bed). I said no and steered them toward a more quiet game of playing with their sticker/coloring books.

And in case you are wondering, Evie is feeling much better today now that she has few doses of antibiotics in her. Never a dull moment!

Poor Thing

Evie and I spent three hours today at the Urgent Care center as she was displaying symptoms of a UTI, which the doctor confirmed. They prescribed her an antibiotic and we'll have to go back in a week to make sure it has cleared up. Poor thing. Not a fun Saturday, but at least I got some one-on-one time with my girl.

Over the holiday break I started putting Darcy to bed at the same time as Evie, which the girls have enjoyed since they get more play time together after bath. I like it now that we're back to the daily grind as it gives me more time with Darcy and also bedtime routines take up a smaller chunk of the evening.

I know to everyone up north 39 doesn't seem like a big deal, but this Tampa and that is cold for Tampa! Looking forward to some milder temps this weekend.

I am turning in early tonight after staying up 'til 12:30 last night to see my FSU Seminoles win the national championship. It was the best game I've watched this season and so exciting right until the last seconds. Proud to be a Seminole today!

Baby Doll

I'm not sure what Baby Doll did, but she was in "time out" in the doll crib and then had "talk"about why when she came out.

A Bed of Mickeys and Minnies

Aunt Kim gave the girls a Mickey to go with their Minnies for Chrostmas and it is quite a sight when they put them all together.

It has taken me the majority of the weekend to de-Christmas the house, find places for all of the girls new toys and do the laundry from our trip. I didn't even get to the regular cleaning, but it will be waiting for me next weekend. Tomorrow it is back to work/school for us after two weeks off. I guess all good thing must come to an end, right?

"Pupple" Tricycle

Grammy and Pops got Darcy a purple (or "pupple" as Darcy says) tricycle for Christmas, which they were finally able to give her today since we were out of town for the holidays. She was smitten with it instantly. Watching her ride it I was reminded of Evie taking her own first tricycle out for a spin when she was about the same age and couldn't believe how big my baby has gotten!

Photo A Day 2014?

I can't believe today is the first day of 2014. Last years seriously flew by! This pitiful girl rang in the new year with a low grade fever. Other than that and mopiness she hasn't had any other symptoms so hopefully this little bug will pass in the next day or two. In either case, we are headed home tomorrow, and I think being in her own bed will do her good.

Yesterday I successfully completed year two of the Photo A Day Challenge and now am on the fence as to whether to do it again this year. I do like that documenting our days has become a part of my daily routine. It has taught me to look for those special little moments in each day that might otherwise go unnoticed or quickly be forgotten. It is fun to go back now and see what we were up to a year or two ago and see how much the girls have changed. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind some flexibility on days when I have nothing to post except cat pictures. Thoughts?
