View

How is a girl supposed to work on a gorgeous day like this? (Fyi, I've decided to take a photo of my view on the last working day of each month to see how things change -- or don't.)

More Evie-isms

When picking out her pajamas this evening, I suggested these, which have elephants on them. Evie, who was already wearing underwear with elephants on them, said, "Yes! These will match my underwear perfectly!" My little fashionista.

Happy birthday, Ken!

We enjoyed lunch and a walk down the pier this afternoon to celebrate Blake's brother's birthday. Good food and even better company!

Outfit

Um, how cute is this outfit?! (Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for providing this dose of cuteness.)

Dr. Evelyn

This evening, while playing doctor, Evie said, "Mommy, I'm going to use my telescope to look in your ears." She then told me I had a bird in one ear and a dragon in the other. Cracked. Me. Up.

Ambition

This evening, Evie declared: Mommy, when I grow up, I want to be a giraffe.

Love it.

Things Evie Likes: Her New Shoes

Not sure why this didn't post last night ...

Oh, for the days when all that was required of your shoes was that they be pink, sparkly and have Disney princesses/butterflies/hearts on them (or in this case all three)!

Comfy Cats

My cats have a knack for finding the cushiest places to sleep (don't all cats?). I think I'd like to be a housecat in my next life!

Perch

When Blake and I bought this coffee table nine years ago, we didn't realize what a great seat it would one day be for our kids.

Hair

I got a haircut today and had the stylist blow it out. Dorene says, "How can you get a haircut and have your hair look longer?!"

Hand-Me-Downs

Having two girls, much of what Darcy wears are hand-me-downs from Evelyn (like the pajamas above). It's kind of fun to see another baby in all of these adorable outfits, especially since their body types are already so different. Evie is long and lean like her Dad and Darcy has more junk in the trunk like me. It make the outfits new again somehow.

These Shoes

Cute, right?

Not so much when you eat it in the parking lot on your way to your car. Sigh. Bye, bye beautiful shoes! I am donating you to Goodwill for someone who knows how to walk in you properly.

Crayons

This is my favorite purchase of late. Last Friday Evie declared she wanted to color so I pulled out the bin that had all her crayons and coloring books. I realized she had like four boxes of crayons, so I decided we needed to consolidate. At Target the next day I picked up this adorable box. The hearts only work because I have two girls so sorry moms out there with boys. So much better and more organized.

It actually reminded me of the crayon pot we had when I was a kid. I think it must've been an old coffee can and it was just full of crayons. I guess now I know how the Kornegay crayon pot came to be!

Easter 2012

This year for Easter, Evie enjoyed her Easter basket, especially the Reese's Peanut Butter cups, as well as an Easter egg hunt (see video below). (In case you were wondering, Darcy decided to sleep in so missed out on the egg hunt. At 13 months, I didn't think she'd mind!)

And I couldn't resist dressing the girls up in pretty Spring dresses for lunch with Grammy and Pops.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Darcy was more interested in eating the eggs than dyeing them ...

Hot Off the Presses!

Probably my favorite part of working on a publication is getting the finished piece from the printer. Such a sense of accomplishment to see the finished product after, literally, months of work!

Who knew?

Perhaps if I had read the directions that come with the little medicine syringes Publix hands out with antibiotics I'd have known that this little piece ...

Is actually a bottle adapter to make dispensing the medicine easier.

Not so much with the wider neck bottles though!

In case you were wondering, the girls both have ear infections so they are both on antibiotics. I'm hoping that this is the last of the illnesses for a while.
