Hand

Darcy loves having her hand traced (over and over again).

We had a delicious dinner at Grammy and Pops house tonight. We didn't think the girls would ever stop eating!

Today

The girls and I went to the mall and played in the indoor play area ...

And went for a carousel ride (they both said that was their favorite part on the way home) ...

And then played in the play area some more.

When we got home, Evie and I watched Bambi while Darcy took a nap and then played explorers. We drew maps and Evie toted her gun (my old color guard rifle) and "shot" the wild tiger (Calvin).

All in all, a very fun, relaxing Saturday with my babies.

Phew

Today was a busy day, which started with me cleaning out and organizing my garage and then running all my errands. While they had a good day at day care, the girls were both tired and thus very testy this evening and tried my patience (especially since I was tired myself). Looking forward to crawling into bed with this furball and (hopefully) getting a good night's rest.

There may be a four-year-old under these blankets ...

Scissors

Darcy got ahold of Evie's scissors this evening. Note to self: put scissors up higher.

(So far this evening the AC seems okay. Fingers crossed last night was just a fluke.)

Fretting

My AC was blowing warm air around 8 p.m., which obviously concerned me. I shut it off and back on as that is my fix for everything (computer, cable box, etc.). That actually seemed to do the trick as it is now blowing cold air again. Of course now I'm fretting about it. Will keep you posted ...

I convinced the girls to let me trim their nails today by letting them paint them afterwards (play polish, of course).

A Little Nap

Evie does not usually nap, but I discovered her like this today during quiet time (Darcy's nap time). She was out for a good two hours.

Pool Time

My sister-in-law-to-be Tiffany and her sister Megan (along with Lucas and Aurora, of course) met up with us today to go for a swim at Grammy and Pops community pool. It is a great facility with an awesome water slide, a mushroom waterfall and gradual entry on one side. We had a BLAST and would have stayed all day if storm clouds hadn't rolled in and chased us inside. Will definitely be going back!

Lazy Bums

They act like they're the ones who.worked all day! (At least today is my Friday so I can be just as lazy tomorrow. Well, as lazy as two little girls will let me be!)

Evie (who came home sick from school today) drew this picture of Cinderella and her coach and castle this evening. I was most impressed with the coach. My little artiste!

Father's Day Swim

We spent most of the afternoon swimming over at Dan and Dorene's house to celebrate the dads in the family. Everyone had a wonderful time. Happy Father's Day Blake, Ken, Dan and my pops! Ya'll are the best (seriously)!

Although Darcy spent the day with me due to a stomach bug (I know, she can't catch a break), she woke up from nap feeling much better and was even up for building and playing on this pillow path with Evie. Fingers crossed this trend continues throughout the weekend!

In case you were wondering, Miss Darcy is feeling much better. She still has a couple more weeks on her antibiotic to totally clear up her sinus infection, but her cough and runny nose have disappeared and she has been sleeping much more soundly at night. Happy to see her on the mend and hoping she can stay well for a while.

Dinner tonight was Curried Quinoa Salad, with chick peas, carrots, green onion and dried cranberries. My vegan friends would be so proud!

Guardian

Calvin likes to sleep in this spot by my bedroom door so he can see people coming before they see him. My little guardian.

In other news, the girls started at their new day care today and from the enthusiastic YES I got when I asked if they wanted to go back tomorrow, I'm assuming they liked it!

Cooking Lesson: Apple Cobbler

Darcy helped Grammy cut shapes out of pastry dough to make an apple cobbler this afternoon. Once she got used to the idea of her hands being messy, she thoroughly enjoyed herself.

Here we go again ...

After nearly three weeks of coughing and a runny nose, we found ourselves back at the pediatrician today. Darcy was diagnosed with a sinus infection and an ear infection in her left ear. Sigh. I really had hoped her surgery a few weeks ago would prevent every cold from turning into a huge ordeal (for her and for us). She is on both otic and oral antibiotics to help clear this latest bout up, but if she ends up with another round anytime soon, I think we'll be back at the ENT specialist. We shall see ...

This is the girls' last week at their current day care, and this morning Darcy's favorite teacher, Ms. Gail, gave her a little goodbye present. We are going to miss Ms. Gail!
