Mallard Summer Camp - Day 55

The sun was out for a while this morning so we took advantage of that and went on a bike ride and to the playground.

You can see the storm clouds rolling in in that last picture (we've been getting A LOT of rain lately). We spent the rest of the day inside, watching movies, playing with Evie's new ponies and doing a special painting project.

All in all, a fun, relaxing Saturday!

Happy Birthday, Evelyn!

Our little baby is 7 (SEVEN?!) years old today. All day long she's been saying "Now they I'm a big girl ... " then finisingh with something like "I can stay up late" or "ride my bike to school" or "make my own dinner."

First we opened presents. I think Darcy was more excited than Evie even though we kept telling her these weren't her presents.

My Little Pony is still a very. big. deal. in our house. Here's a look at the new members to their burgeoning pony family.

After presents we went to the beach. Unfortunately, the rains rolled in about 15 minutes in to our beach day, so we went to Grammy's pool instead.

The girls were excited and exhausted after a full day of pizza, cake, doughnuts, presents and swimming.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EVIE!!

Mallard Summer Camp - Day Fifty-one

Just a few more days till Evelyn's birthday and we went and got her the bike she wanted.  Will she finally learn to ride a bike?  We hope this cool new looking set of wheels will help her out.

Mallard Summer Camp - Day Fifty

Today we went to the Children's Museum.  It was free for all library card holders.  The kids had a great time.  Although Darcy wished there were more snacks.

Evelyn said the cat had a broken ankle and needed a cast.

They both said: "we're playing like you daddy." As they checked out of the grocery store.

Somewhere under the rainbow...

Back-to-School Shopping

JCP was offering associates an extra 10 percent discount today so Blake and I took advantage of that and bought the girls a few things for when they start school next month. They were quite excited about their new clothes and did a little fashion show for me when we got home. Here is a peek at one if the items they each got.

(I hope they always love each other this much!)

Mallard Summer Camp - Day Forty-seven

We intended to go to Weeki Wachee as a big family trip.  The girls were soooo excited to see "real live mermaids".  But then the rains rolled in and the park said the mermaids were closed for maintenance.

So we headed to Chucky Cheese instead!   The girls had a great time.

Honestly I don't care where we are, as long as I get to spend the days with my special ladies.

Mallard Summer Camp - Day Forty-five

Pool Day!

We've been to the pool many times this summer.  And the girls have had many hours at Grammy's pool when they stay over there.  But this is the first time I've brought the camera.

The water slide is, of course, the best part for the girls.

Evie's turn!

Both girls climbed up the stairs many many times.  They were so pooped that they didn't even want snacks when they got home!

Where's Waldo?!
